Logo and Visual Identity Pricing in Switzerland: The 2026 Guide

A logo can cost CHF 200 or CHF 15,000 in Switzerland. The gap is no accident: each price tier reflects specific deliverables, a method and a level of support. Here is how to invest wisely, based on your company's maturity.

How much does a logo cost in Switzerland? The honest answer spans a dizzying range: from CHF 200 on a platform like Fiverr to CHF 15,000 or more at a branding agency. A 1-to-75 gap that leaves most SME owners in French-speaking Switzerland puzzled. Yet this gap is anything but arbitrary: each price tier corresponds to a very different process, set of deliverables and depth of strategic thinking. The real challenge is not to find the lowest price, but to invest the right amount at the right stage of your company's life.

In this guide, updated for 2026, we break down exactly what you get at each budget level, with price ranges in Swiss francs, and then give you a simple decision framework based on your company's maturity.

Logo or visual identity: what are we actually talking about?

Before comparing quotes, one essential distinction. The logo is a graphic mark: a symbol, a designed wordmark, or a combination of both. The visual identity is the complete system built around that logo: colour palette, typography, iconography, photographic style, document templates and usage rules, all documented in brand guidelines. A logo on its own naturally costs less than a full identity — and this is precisely where most misunderstandings between clients and providers begin.

Tier 1: CHF 200 to 500 — platforms and generators

Fiverr, entry-level 99designs packages or AI-powered logo generators will produce a visual for the equivalent of CHF 200 to 500. By 2026, the raw quality of these tools has improved significantly: proposals are clean and delivered within days, sometimes hours.

What you get:

  • a logo with 2 to 3 proposals and a limited number of revisions;
  • standard export files (PNG, sometimes vector formats depending on the package);
  • no research whatsoever into your market, competitors or positioning.

The limits: the provider knows neither the Swiss market nor your industry. The risk of resembling an existing logo is real, availability checks are never included, and copyright transfer often remains vague. To test an idea or dress up a side activity, it can be enough. For a business invoicing Swiss clients, it is a gamble.

Tier 2: CHF 800 to 2,500 — the independent designer

This is the most common tier for newly founded SMEs in French-speaking Switzerland. An established freelance designer in Switzerland typically charges between CHF 90 and 140 per hour; a serious logo project represents 8 to 20 hours of work.

What you get:

  • a structured brief and a genuine conversation about your business and your clients;
  • 2 to 3 original creative directions, followed by iterations on the chosen one;
  • complete vector files (AI, SVG, PDF, PNG) and colour variations;
  • often a mini style guide: colours, typography and basic rules over a few pages.

The limits: strategic depth depends entirely on the freelancer's profile. Many are excellent graphic executors, more rarely positioning advisors. Check the portfolio, local references and, above all, what the quote precisely includes: number of proposals, number of revision rounds and which materials are covered.

Tier 3: CHF 3,000 to 7,000 — the studio: a complete visual identity

At this level, you are no longer buying a logo, but a system. Design studios and small agencies deliver an identity designed for all of your touchpoints.

What you get:

  • a scoping workshop: positioning, values, target audiences, competitor analysis;
  • a logo declined into primary, secondary and favicon versions;
  • 15 to 30 pages of brand guidelines: colours, typography, iconography, photographic style, application examples;
  • the essential templates: business cards, email signature, sales presentation, social media posts.

This is the tier where things get serious: your image becomes consistent everywhere, from your storefront to your invoices. For a service-based SME that lives on trust — fiduciary, medical practice, high-end craftsman, law firm — it usually offers the best ratio between investment and impact.

Tier 4: CHF 8,000 to 15,000 and beyond — the branding agency

Here, design is only the visible part. A branding agency starts with brand strategy: mission, promise, offer architecture, tone of voice, key messages. The logo comes at the end of the process, as the visual translation of documented strategic decisions.

What you get:

  • interviews with your teams, sometimes your clients, and a formalised market analysis;
  • a written brand platform: positioning, promise, tone of voice, key messages;
  • an exhaustive visual identity with complete guidelines and declensions across all media;
  • rollout support: signage, vehicles, packaging, website, campaigns.

Who it is for: established companies repositioning themselves, merging businesses, brands targeting a national or international market, or industries where image directly drives the selling price, such as watchmaking, high-end real estate or finance. Below CHF 500,000 in annual revenue, this tier is rarely a priority.

How to choose based on your company's maturity

You are launching your business (0 to 2 years)

Recommended budget: CHF 800 to 2,500. Your positioning will still shift; there is no point setting in stone a strategy that will evolve. A good freelancer gives you a credible professional foundation. Keep the remaining budget for what generates clients right now, starting with the creation of a professional website in Geneva and your local visibility.

You are in a growth phase (2 to 5 years)

Recommended budget: CHF 3,000 to 7,000. Your materials have multiplied — website, social media, offers, sales documents — and visual inconsistencies are starting to show. This is the ideal moment for a complete identity with brand guidelines: it harmonises everything and saves time on every new asset. A well-built identity also dramatically simplifies the management of your social media in Geneva: ready-made templates, fixed colours, fast declensions.

You are established and targeting the premium market

Budget: CHF 8,000 and above. When every point of margin depends on how your brand is perceived, strategy comes before aesthetics. The investment pays for itself through higher pricing power and brand awareness that lowers your acquisition costs.

The mistakes that cost real money

  • Paying twice: the CHF 300 logo redone for CHF 5,000 eighteen months later is a classic. If your business is serious from day one, start at tier 2 at the very least.
  • Neglecting rights transfer: demand a written clause transferring usage and modification rights. Without it, your logo does not truly belong to you.
  • Forgetting the source files: vector files (AI or SVG) must be handed over. A simple PNG becomes unusable at the first shop sign or large-format print.
  • Skipping the similarity check: a search through registered trademarks, notably on Swissreg for Switzerland, avoids a costly dispute.
  • Confusing personal taste with effectiveness: a good logo is not the one you prefer, it is the one your clients understand and remember.

Think ecosystem, not file

A logo never lives alone. It works on your website, your social profiles, your ads, your quotes and your emails. The right reflex is therefore to think in terms of an ecosystem: which identity, deployed on which media, for which business objective? That is exactly the approach we apply at Digital Swiss Agency, with transparent pricing shared in a free quote and packages that combine identity, website and content.

Our final recommendation: first define your overall visibility budget, then allocate 15 to 25 percent of it to your visual identity. A consistent image at CHF 3,000, carried by a good website and regular communication, will always return more than a CHF 15,000 logo that nobody sees.
